INDIANAPOLIS — Mary Ellen Janeway, 87, Indianapolis, passed away at the St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. Mary Ellen was born in Hillsboro, Ind., on Sept. 25, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and May (Newlin) Janeway. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1943. Mary Ellen worked as a claims examiner for the V.A. Regional Office from 1943 until her retirement in 1980. Mary Ellen was a member of the Westview Christian Church in Indianapolis.Mary Ellen leaves behind her several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.A memorial gravesite service will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. with Rev.
