Elkhart – Services for Ivan James, 93 of 159 Bank who died Friday afternoon at his home will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Walley-Mill-Zimmerman Funeral Home with the reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. James was born June 16, 1883 in Parkersburg, Ind. In Oct 1908 in St. Joseph Michigan, he married Hazel Bender, who died Feb 22, 1950. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lucille E. Leavy with whom he made his home; a son, Richard of Ashingdon, England and three grandchildren. James had been employed by the Miller Theaters of Elkhart for the last 15 years and prior to that had been manager of the Indiana and Truex Hotels in Elkhart.
