Dr. Ernest K. James, age 95, a resident of Lowell, IN since 1946 passed away Tuesday July 12, 2016. Survived by his children, Deborah Holbrook of Saline, MI, David (Kathy of Valparaiso, IN; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a sister, Joanne Roberts of Reno, NV. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nell; his parents; one brother and two sisters. Ernest retired from practicing dentistry after 43 years. He was a member of Bethany Chapel Church, Lowell, The Gideons International, American Legion Post 101 and American Dental Association. Ernest was a WWII Navy veteran and Korean War veteran serving with the US Navy Dental Corp, 3rd Medical Batallion, 3rd Division of the US Army and a recipient of the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service. Visitation, Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E Commercial Ave, Lowell. Funeral service, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Chapel, 545 N Nichols St, Lowell Burial will follow in West Creek Cemetery with Pastor Terry Owens officiating.
