Walter M. Jackson, son of the late County Treasurer, William Jackson and a brother of Mrs. RC Vaught of Hillsboro died about midnight Sunday night at his home in Portland. He was a sufferer from heart trouble and had been in poor health for some time. The Elks at their chapel in Portland conducted the funeral Tues afternoon and the interment was in Mt. Scott Cemetery. Mr. Jackson had many friends in Hillsboro, which he visited frequently. He was connected with the old Salem Woolen Mills store in Portland for sometime, but resigned and opened a gentleman's furnishing store on the east side. He later retired from this and became associated with the Pendleton Woolen Mills as sales manager. In addition to his mother and sister, living in Hillsboro, his widow and one son survive him.
