Elton Eugene "Gene" Jackson, 74, Crawfordsville, died 3:58 Monday in Williamsburg Health Care.
Mr. Jackson owned and operated Jackson Oil Company, Darlington, and was employed at Allison's, Indianapolis. His memberships included the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Korean War veteran and retired from the Air Force in 1967 after serving 21 years. He attended Crawfordsville schools.
He was born May 31, 1929, at Crawfordsville, to Straudia and Dollie Elizabeth Rusk Jackson. He married Jonelle Walston on May 2, 1953. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary, Indianapolis; two daughters, Yolanda Query, Crawfordsville, and Sheri Nockels, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Arianell Peterman, Crawfordsville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A brother, Major Etherton Jackson, is deceased.
The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Thursday in Hunt and Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville.
