Monday evening shortly before ten o'clock Samuel C. W. Irwin died of consumption at the residence of his father V. Q. Irwin, on east Main street. The funeral occurred Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. E. B. Thompson officiating. Interment at Oak Hill cemetery. Samuel Irwin was born in this city, 27 years ago the 29th of last October and here he passed the major portion of his life. He attended Wabash college but left when appointed as a naval cadet to Annapolis. Until a few months ago he was engaged in the newspaper business in Florida, but his failing health caused him to return to Crawfordsville, where he steadily declined until death relieved his sufferings last evening. His father, who is now left alone in the world, has the sympathy of all in his bereavement. - thanks so much to Kim H

The funeral services of Samuel C. Irwin were held this afternoon at the residence of his father. Rev. E. B. Thomson read the scripture lesson and offered prayer, and a choir sang appropriate hymns. At the conclusion of the services the interment was made at Oak Hill Cemetery.
