Waynetown - Funeral services for Verna M. Irvin, 79 former Wingate resident who died last Sunday at her home in Long Beach, calif are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home. Rev. Rob James will officiate, and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Irvin was a daughter of Daniel and Laura Peters Davis and was born near Hillsboro in Fountain County sept 13, 1885. She married Walter J. Haxton Dec 6 1905 at Wingate. He is deceased. On July 19, 1951, she married William L. Irvin at Ft. Collins, Colo. She was a member of the Atlantic Avenue Methodist Church at Long Beach of OES Chapter 282 and Pythian Sisters at Newtown. Women's Relief Corps at Crawfordsville and Past chiefs Club at Long Beach. She was educated at Hillsboro and in southern Illinois. Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Gardner of Ft. Collins; a brother, Harry C. Davis of Winslow, Ark; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Parker of Linden; several nieces and nephews including Mrs Helen Nagle of Brookston and Harold M. Parker in California and 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. =======

Wingate- Funeral services for Mrs Verna Irvin who died at her home in Long Beach, Calif, Nov 14, were held Saturday morning, Nov 21, at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. The minister was Rev. Rob R James, pastor of Wingate Methodist Church. The music was by organist Mrs Mary Mullen who also accompanied John Thomas as he sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Going Home." The pall bearers, who also assisted with the flowers were Lee Mcharry, C L Miller, Emma Gardner, Amos Mahan, Clarence Rusk and John Nagle. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wingate
