IRVIN - Eliza

Mrs. Eliza Irvin died Friday, January 9, at four o’clock p.m. with congestion of the stomach and liver, after a very severe illness of only about thirty six hours, aged about sixty years.
She was in her place of prayer meeting on Tuesday night and on Wednesday about midnight she was taken sick, the thirty ninth anniversary of her marriage. Mrs. Irvin was born in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Ky. May 15, 1814, married January 8, 1835 to Wm A. Irvin. They resided in Kentucky until their removal to Waveland in August, 1868. Mrs. Irvin was the mother of seven children, five of whom survive her. She united with the Presbyterian Church in the fall of 1829, and has lived a consistent Christian ever since. She was a sister of the late David A. Mann.
The funeral services were conducted by Brother Torrence at the Presbyterian Church. The remains were followed to their last resting place by a large congregation of people. -s
