Darlington- Benjamin Harrison Irvin, 84, retired Darlington area farmer, died late Friday night at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Mr. Irvin retired in 1960 after spending most of his adult life farming in this area. He was a member of the Congregational Christian church. He attended Wingate Schools. He was born July 15, 1888, at Newton, a son of Hugh and Fannie Irvin. He was married Dec 22, 1909, at Danville, Ill, to Gladys Broaders, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Gayle of Darlington, Hugh of Tulare, Calif. and Leon of Wingate: two brothers, Donald and Hubert, both of Wingate; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10a.m. Monday at Burkhart Funeral Home at Darlington. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
