Irons - Martha Sanders

Mrs. Mattie Jane IRONS, wife of James Irons and a well known resident of Alamo passed away Saturday morning at the Culver Hospital after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Irons' death occurred by a complication of diseases. Mrs. Irons first became a patient at the hospital September 26 when she underwent a major operation. After remaining at the hospital 2 weeks she was taken to her home. She returned to the hospital Oct 28 and since that time her condition had gradually grown worse. Mrs. Irons was born Aug 8, 1867 in Wisconsin daughter of Tilden and Fannie Sanders. She married James Irons March 2, 1888. She was a member of Alamo Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star. Those surviving are the husband, James, a son Ralph of Evansville , two daughters, Fannie and Juanita of Alamo and two grandchildren and two brothers, Irwin Sanders of Frankfort and Charles Sanders of Lima, Ohio and one sister, Mary J. Hutton of Lywood, California. The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 in Alamo, Rev. John Servies officiating. - kbz
