Claude T. Irons, 84, 400 E. Market, who had operated the Crawfordsville Sale Barn from 1932-1960, died at 12:25 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital. He had been in failing health several years. Mr. Irons had been a farmer in the Yountsville area and had operated a libery (sic -livery) stable in Crawfordsville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville. He was born Dec 16, 1887 near Kirkpatrick, a son of Thomas W. and Mary Holloway Irons. He married Margaret Agnes Mangold in Aberdeen, SD Jan 10, 1911. He is survived by a son, Thomas W. Irons of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Oct 7, 1965; a son, Gordon; two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted in Bright & Burkhart Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Frank Little officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
