Crawfordsville, Ind. March 6 -- James J. Insley, age 76, one of the best known men of Crawfordsville and for years prominent in charitable and church work, died last night at his home here. Mr. Insley was a native of Tippecanoe county, but had spent most of his life in Crawfordsville. For years he was in the livery business here. His widow and three children by a former marriage survive. The children are Mrs. James H. Osborne and Mrs. Elsie Morse, both of this city, and Morton H. Insley of Portland, Ore.

James J. Insley of Crawfordsville, 76 years old, died at his home at 6:30 o’clock Friday evening after an illness of several weeks with Bright’s disease. Mr. Insley was born in the Sugar Grove neighborhood, Tippecanoe county. He was thrice married. He is survived by his wife and three children. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Blaine E. Kirkpatrick pastor of the First M. E. church of Crawfordsville of which the deceased was a member, conducting the funeral service. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.
