Insley - Eveline Richardson
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, 19 September 1891
A sadder death has not occurred in Crawfordsville for a long time than that of Mrs. J. J. Insley, which occurred last Thursday shortly after nine o'clock. Mrs. Insley was in her usual health and arose Thursday morning making no complaint. About half past six Mrs. D. N. Morgan stopped across the street and stood at the kitchen door talking to her when Mrs. Insley suddenly reeled and fell upon the floor to all appearances lifeless. Convulsions soon followed and she was placed upon a cot where the doctors were in constant attendance up to the time of her death. She never once rallied or regained consciousness and death was inevitable from the first. The cause of her death was apoplexy or the bursting of a blood vessel in the brain. No arrangements have as yet been made for the funeral and as Mr. Insley is still very sick it is probable that the remains will be deposited temporarily in the vault. The doctors earnestly request that the friends of the family refrain from visiting the house as the serious condition of Mr. Insley renders quiet imperative. Eveline Richardson was born in Crawfordsville 42 years ago and was the daughter of Zepahniah Richardson, so long proprietor of the Richardson, now Nutt House. She was married to Mr. Insley in 1872 and has always been a lady distinguished for her refinement and Christian graces. She has been for many years a consistent member of the Methodist church and dies mourned by a large circle of warm friends who extend to the bereaved family their sincerest sympathy.Died: Septemeber 17, 1891 - thanks to Kim H
