HILLSBORO, Ind. (CNS) – Paul Guy Ingersoll, 59, of Hillsboro, former superintendent of Southeast Fountain Schools, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening (Dec, 3. 1974) at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Ingersoll served as superintendent for 11 years. He was principal of Richland Township School for 17 years before becoming superintendent Jan. 1, 1962. Richland School was in the Southeast Fountain School Corporation. Since being relieved of duties as superintendent, Mr. Ingersoll has been teaching in the high school. He held a teaching certificate in English and speech. Born April 23, 1915, near Waynetown, he was the son of Clayton and Rebecca Moffett Ingersoll. He was married May 12, 1941, to Thelma Snyder, who survives. Mr. Ingersoll was a graduate of Hillsboro High and Wabash College. He received his master’s degree from Indiana University and studied for his doctorate at Purdue University. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post. He was a veteran of dervice in the Army in Germany during World War II. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Judy) Funk of Brownsburg and Mrs. Lynn (Linda) Ratcliff of Wallace; two brothers, Ralph M. of Hillsboro and James of Waynetown; three sisters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Munns of Bloomington, Mrs. Ralph (Jewell) Bounnell of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Harrell (Lois) Johnson of Covington; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home. The Rev. Ernest Hayden and the Rev. Bertha Knox will officiate. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
