James (Bill) Ingersoll, 77, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at his home, 107 S. Grant Ave. He had been in failing health the past six weeks. Mr. Ingersoll, a retired farmer, moved to Crawfordsville from Waynetown 18 years ago. He was a member of the Ingersoll Christian Chapel and K. of P. Lodge of Newtown. He was born Nov. 4, 1884, in Fountain County, a son of Wilse and Martha Wilson Ingersoll. He was married June 28, 1903 to Vera Fye, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Charles of Flossmor, Ill.; a grandson, Robert of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chelse. Fruneral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Monday.
