Hillsboro - Mrs. Etha M. Hyatt, 78, a resident of Hillsboro since 1909, died Sunday night in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville, 3 and one half hours after being admitted as a medical patient. She had been in failing health for some time. Born Dec 4, 1881, in Illinois, Mrs. Hyatt was the daughter of Joseph and Mary McClean Keefer. She married John Hyatt April 25, 1899. They were married in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cornell near Newtown. Mrs. Hyatt was a member of the Union Christian Church at Newtown and the Christian Missionary Society of Hillsboro. Survivors include the husband, two daughters, Miss Berniece Hyatt, at home and Mrs. Bessie Beck of Waynetown; a son, Harry Hyatt of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Lura LaBaw of Hobart and Miss Ada Keefer of Huntington Park, Calif; four grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A brother, Philip Keefer of the Veterans Administration at Danville, Ill also survives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Marialice Brown and an infant son. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crumley Funeral Home at HIllsboro, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Homer Cole will be the officiating minister. - kbz
