Rockville – Roy M. Hutson, 74 of 506 S. Market Street, a retired farmer chef and former township trustee in Parke County died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday at the home of a son in Rt. 1, Marshall. Mr. Hutson served as a trustee of Howard Township. He was a chef 17 years at Turkey Run State Park Inn. For 8 years he served at an ASC committeeman in both township and county. He was a member of Wallace Lodge 495, F&AM and was active in political and community affairs. A native of this county, he was a son of William and Sarah Thomas Hutson and was born Oct 24, 1895. He was married Sept 3, 1928 to Lula Mae Elam who died Oct 11, 1942. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Avalene Harrison of near Kingman, Mrs. Lela Cooper of Terre Haute and Mrs. Delores Sewell of Crawfordsville; two sons, Charles of Rt. 1, Marshall and Roy, Jr. of Kingman; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Ratcliff of Hillsboro and Mrs. Sylvia Spraggs of Kingman; a half sister, Mrs. Goldie Bryant of Waynetown; a brother, Ared of Veedersburg and 8 grandchildren. Two sisters, two brothers, a half sister and grandson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Butler Funeral Home, Rev. James O. Trousdale will be the minister with burial in Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm. today. - kbz

ROCKVILLE - Roy M. Hutson, age 74, of Rockville, died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday Jan. 22, at the home of his son, Charles of Marshall Rt. 1. Mr. Hutson was born in Parke County on Oct. 24, 1896, the son of William and Sarah Thomas Hutson. He was a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge, ASCS Committees, township and county; was a former trustee of Howard Township and he was a farmer. He was active in the community and political affairs. He was married on Sept. 3, 1928, to Lula Mae Elam, who preceded him in death Oct. 11, 1942. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Adalene Harrison of Kingman Rt. 1, Mrs. Leland Cooper of Terre Haute, and Mrs. Delores SeweIl of Crawfordsville; two sons, Charles of Marshall Rt. l and Ray of Kingman; one brother, Ared of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Ratcliff of Hillsboro and Mrs. Sylvia Spragg of Kingman; and one half-sister, Mrs. Goldie Bryant of Waynetown; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Funeral Home in Rockville. The Rev. James O. Trousdale officiated and burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace. - jlr
