At the age of 83 years, 9 months and 1 day, Jane Blacketer Hutson passed away at her home E. of Marshall on Jan 29, 1932 at 2:20. Her death was due to flu and pneumonia. She was b. in Parke Co, Indiana, April 28, 1848, the daughter of Samuel & Fannie Blacketer. She was one of a family of 8 children all of whom have preceded her in death. On the first day of Nov. 1866 she was united in marriage to George W. Hutson. To this union were born 9 children, two have preceded her in death: Mrs. Mose Mitchell of Byron; Mrs. Ancel Cox of Bloomingdale; Charles of Los Angeles, Calif; John of Freewater, Oregon; Armilda Crummer of Los Angeles; Cecil and Perry at home. 28 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends will mourn her loss. She was a devoted wife and mother, all of her time she devoted in rearing her family to be Christian men and women. Mother Hutson was a fine Christian woman, and although she was not a member of any Church, she held to the Old School Baptist belief. Although we would have kept her with us yet a while, we know that the Master has need of her when he called her home. - kbz
