Ira I. Hutchison, 84 died at 8 a.m. Thursday at his home at 420 W. North. For several years he had been in failing health. A native of Montgomery County, he was the son of Iziah and Cindrella Jackson Hutchison and was born Feb 8, 1868.  As a young man he engaged in farming in Montgomery and Boone counties. He also was in the mercantile business at Bowers and later in Greensburg. For the past 30 years he had resided at 420 W. North. He was widely known throughout Decatur County.  Mr. Hutchison was a member of the Greensburg Methodist Church and was affiliated with Decatur Lodge No 103, IOOF and Philo Rebekah Lodge of this city. Active in Odd Fellowship he was a former noble grand of the lodge and for many years served as trustee.  On Nov 18, 1888, he was married to Easter May Dunbar, who passed away Oct 14, 1935.  He was married on May 22, 1937 to Leona M. Rozzell. The survivors are: the widow, Mrs. Leona Hutchison of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Lena) Cory of Frankfort; a son, Lorin Hutchison of near Greensburg a brother, Will Hutchison of San Francisco, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Bell Himes of Marshalltown, Iowa; 10 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The body is at the Howe Funeral Home where friends may call after the noon hour on Friday. Plans for the funeral have not been determined and will be announced later. - kbz
