JONATHAN HUTCHINSON

Jonathan Hutchinson, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Champaign, died at 8 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home on First Street and the remains were taken "to Crawfordsville for interment." We have known "Uncle Johnty" Hutchinson since 1852, he being at that time a resident of Montgomery County, Indiana of which Crawfordsville is the county seat. He was one of the pioneers of the organization of agricultural fairs in the west was an energetic and successful farmer and stock raiser, and was universally respected by all who knew him -

Mr. Hutchinson resided on a farm near this city for a number of years, and was near 78 years of age at the time of his death. The remains were brought to this city and interred in Odd Fellows Cemetery Monday afternoon. - kbz
