Mrs. Ethel Viola Hutchison, 91, of Mellott, who has been residing with her daughter, Mrs. Walter Totheroh of Veedersburg R 4, passed away there at 12:50 p. m. Wednesday, June 2, 1976. She had been seriously ill the past 18 months. She was born near Wallace on Sept. 4, 1884, the daughter of William A. and Margaret Ann Whitaker Krout. She had lived most of her life in Fountain and Montgomery Counties and had been a resident of Mellott for 25 years. She had been living with her daughter the past 18 months. She was married Aug. 29, 1906, near Alamo to Cleveland Hutchison, who preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1950. She had attended school at Wallace and was housewife and practical nurse. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Bertha) Totheroh of R 4, Veedersburg and Mrs. Marian (Margaret) E. Scott of West Point; three sons, Ralph of West Lebanon, R. 1; George of New Richmond Route and Russell Leon of Covington; one brother, Clarence Krout of Montezuma; and 18 grandchildren, three step grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren; and one step great-great grandchild. One sister, two brothers, three grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren preceded her in death. Friends will be received at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica after 3 p. m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church at 2:00 p. m. Saturday with Rev. Wayne Hoover officiating. The body will lie in state one hour at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery near Wingate. -- typed by Walt W

Veedersburg - Ethel Viola Hutchinson, 91, of Melott, died Wednesday afternoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Togheroh of Rt 4, Veedersburg (Stone Bluff). Mrs. Hutchinson had lived with her daughter prior to her death. Mrs. Hutchinson had been ill since 1967 and seriouly ill for the past 18 months. She was a life resident of Fountain and Montgomery counties and a resident of Mellott 25 years. She attended school at Wallace and was a housewife and practical nurse. Born Sept 4,1884 near Wallace she was the daughter of William A. and Margaret ann Whitaker Krout. She was married to Cleveland Hutchinson on Aug 29, 1906 near alamo. He preceded her in death Jan 11, 1950. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Bertha) Totheroh of Veedersburg and Mrs. marion (Margaret) E. Scott of West Point, ind; three sons, Ralph of Rt 1, West Lebanon; George of Rt 1, New Richmond and Russell Leon of Covington; a brother, Clarence Krout of Montezuma; 18 grandchildren 3 step grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 11 stepgreat grandhcildren; 14 great great grandchildren and a step great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, 3 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Hoover officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery at Wingate following the services.
