Emma Margarette HUTCHINSON, daughter of Timothy M. and Nettie Myers Alward was born on a farm in Parke County Indiana Oct 30, 1876. Her mother died when she was a small child and the father and babe lived in the home of her grandmother Alward in Jackson Twp, Fountain County. In this home she grew to womanhood and November 6, 1892 she was united in marriage to Charles Hutchinson and to this union two children were born, one son and one daughter. The son Dudley Hutchinson passed away 9 years ago. After her marriage she and her husband began housekeeping in the vicinity of Elmdale where they resided a number of years, moving from there to Waynetown where they resided 3 years and 11 years ago moving to Crawfordsville. For some time past she had resided on a farm two miles north of Crawfordsville and it was in this home after 10 days of serious illness that she passed away at age 55 years 4 months 20 days. Leaving to mourn her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Smith of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, one brother, Otis Alward of Lansing, Ill ½ brother Claude Alward of Kingman 3 half sisters, Mrs. Charles Davis, Mrs. Robert Newnam of Kingman; Mrs. Raymond Lucas of Marshall, Indiana and her stepmother, Mrs. Abigail Alward of Kingman may other relatives and friends. Some years ago under the pastorate of Rev. Cornelius Airhart she united with the Primitive Baptist the Church at Elmdale and was a member of that Church to the end of life´s journey. In every community in which she had resided she was known as a devote wife and mother, a good neighbor and friend. She reached the end of life´s journey and has gone unto her reward and may peace be unto her departed soul. - kbz
