Dr. Huntsinger, an eye and ear specialist physician, well known in this county died at San Antonio, Texas on Monday last.  His death resulted from heart failure. He had resided at Frankfort for many years past and only removed to Texas about a month ago. He frequently visited Crawfordsville in the line of his profession, was a quiet, gentlemanly man and much respected by acquaintances. His wife, we believe, formerly resided at Darlington and has relatives there.

"The remains of Dr. Eli Huntsinger were interred at Frankfort on Sunday. The doctor died suddenly in San Antonio, Texas, Wednesday of last week. He was standing at the window looking at a parade of the Traveling Men's Associaiton when he fell to the floor and although Mrs. Huntsinger ran to him at once, he was dead when she raised his head from the floor. The funeral of Dr. Huntsinger occurred at Frankfort Sunday. The facts regarding his death were about as follows: Tuesday evening at San Antonio, Texas, while standing in a doctor’s office with his wife and child, watching the parade of the National Traveling Men’s Association, which was holding a convention there, he fell to the floor and expired before Mrs. Huntsinger could reach his side. He had not been complaining and seemed in usual good spirits during the day.

findagrave has: Daniel Huntsinger (1796-1854) and Sarah Hess (1803-1873) as his parents - not verified by this researcher - kbz
