VEEDERSBURG — Miss Alta Hunter, 57, former resident of Veedersburg, died Sunday in her home at St. Louis. She had been in failing health the past two years. She was born in Judyville, Aug. 26, 1908, a daughter of William and Lucinda East Hunter. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Lucinda Hunter of Veedersburg; five sisters, Mrs. Edith Shaffer of Granite City, Ill., Mrs. Magdeline Vaughn of Chicago, Mrs. Martha Pruitt of Lafayette, Mrs. Alice Coffing of Rt. 4 Veedersburg and Miss Dorothy Hunter of St. Louis; and two brothers, Clarence of Kokomo and Paul of Rt. 4 Veedersburg. Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Seever Mortuary here with Rev. Conley Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Union Christian Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Tuesday. -- typed by Walt W
