"Ladoga" J.A.W. Hunt died at the Soldiers Home in Lafayette Sunday. The body was brought here Tuesday and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Burk where the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Ray Lides, pastor of the Christian church. Interment at Ladoga Cemetery.

James A. W. Hunt was born August 24, 1845 and died December 6, 1908, at age 63 Years 3 Months 12 Days. Oct. 11 , 1866, he was married to Mary M. Peffley, who died Jan 16, 1898. Four children blessed the home: Eva M, deceased; Edna C. now Mrs. Burt Robbins; Wilmer, deceased and Ethel A, now Mrs. Charles Burk. Mr. Hunt was a member of the Ladoga Christian Church. He was a veteran of the Civil War and member of Bruce Post No 273, GAR of Ladoga. At the time of his death he resided at the State Soldiers Home at Lafayette. Two children and twelve grandchildren survive him. The remains were brought to Ladoga Monday for burial. The funeral service was conducted at the home of Mrs. Charles Burk, Tuesday afternoon by Rev. I.R. Lines and interment was made in Harshbarger Cemetery.
