Mrs. Alice Effie Hunt, who had been ill for a month after suffering a stroke, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Kelso, 415 E. Jefferson St. She was 88 years old. She was born Oct. 14, 1877, in the county. Her parents were Tilmond and Sara David Swisher. She was married to John E. Hunt, who died in 1948. Survivors in addition to the daughter with whom she lived include six other daughters, Mrs. Bessie Odell of Kansas, Mrs. Bertha Stewart of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Lucille Fairfield of New Market, Mrs. Marjorie Wade of Indianapolis and Mrs. Esther Richardson and Mrs. Lois Keller of Crawfordsville; two sons, Keith and Loren Hunt of Crawfordsville; a brother, Howard Swisher of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. June Craig of Michigan; 28 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children.
