Waynetown - Richard W. "Dick" Humphreys, 48, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., died Tuesday morning in a Sherman Oaks hospital after an apparent heart attack. Mr. Humphreys, a professional entertainer, lived at Lafayette until the late 1930's when he moved to Hollywood, Calif. He had performed with Bob Hope, was with the Eddie Cantor show and had been choreographer for Jerry Lewis shows. Born in 1929 at Lafayette, he was a son of Frank and Marie Sinclaire Humphreys. His father was a native of Montgomery County. He was married to Jean Rogers of Hollywood. She survives with a son, three daughters, a brother and a sister, all of California, and several cousins in the Montgomery and Fountain counties area. The body will be cremated.

Dickie Humphreys, West Side lad, won first place in an amateur entertainment contest conducted by the American Legion of Fowler, in the Fowler high school during the week-end. Dickie is a popular juvenile entertainer, his dancing and singing repertoire being extensive. The Fowler Legion has sponoered contest for the past three years.
