Mrs. Ina Myrtle Humphrey, 71, widow of Jonathan B. Humphrey [sic Jonathan died in 1968], died at 9:15 o’clock (CDT) Friday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Audra Smith, R. F. D. 1, Ladoga. She had been ill six months. Born July 23, 1879, at Elmdale, Mrs. Humphrey was the daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth Swank Tyler. She married Jonathan Humphrey, of near Elmdale, 55 years ago. She was a member of the First Christian church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Martin, of Lebanon, and Mrs. Audra Smith, o f near Ladoga; three sons, Palmer Humphrey, of Florida, Ralph Humphrey, of Fort Wayne, and Paul Humphrey, of Crawfordsville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Fay William and Mrs. Beulah Dobkins, both of Hoopeston, Ill.; a half-brother, Frank Tyler, of Hoopeston, Ill.; a step-brother, Walter Gephart, of California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two children, Clifton and Mildred preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock (CDT) Monday afternoon at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral home, with burial at Oakland cemetery north of Elmdale. Rev. Paul Million and Rev. Ray Britton will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
