To this union 8 children were born: Jesse; Ameal; Charles; Louise; Sarah; Lola; Rosa and Eva. Three of the children, Jesse, Rosa and Eva died in infancy. Humphrey, died Dec 1, 1921 , his elder brother, Hosea D. Humphrey, died May 15, 1928. Four older sisters, Mrs. Martha M. Wolfe of Waveland, Mrs. Isabel Majors of Danville Ill; Mrs. Liddy Hastings and Leaner Starks of Rosedale, and a brother, Thomas Francis Humphrey, preceded him in death a number of years ago. Hiram Humphrey, whose obituary was printed last week, was born on the farm just east of the John Anderson Myers place at Pleasant View HIll. The house no longer remains. The Charles Humphrey mentioned is on the USS Falcon that rescued the men from the submarine, Squalas, when it sank.
