Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at McKinley Grant Chapel in Grant, MI for Hallie Lee Hughey, 76 of Grant, a former area resident, who died of an apparent heart attack at his home Sunday (Dec. 8, 1974). The Rev. Lester Patrafka officiated. Burial was in White Cloud, MI Cemetery. Born Sept. 10, 1898, in Sterling, he was the son of Harrison and Alice Hughey. He was married in 1917 to Nancy Simmons of Wallace, who died Oct. 14, 1974. After their marriage they moved to Michigan where they lived all their married life, except for a few years when they returned to Veedersburg area. He was educated in the Veedersburg area schools. Survivors include two sets of twins, Paul Hughey of White Cloud and Mrs. Pauline Jenkins of Muskegon, MI, and Leonard Hughey of White Cloud and Glen Hughey of Muskegon; a brother, John of Festus, MO; three sisters, Mrs. Lethel Hershberger of Attica, Mrs. Ruth Meyers of Hillsboro and Mrs. Robert Troxel of Lafayette; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. --tch
