Waynetown - Mrs. Mary A. Hughes, 61 of Rt. 1, Waynetown died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan 11. She and her husband had engaged in farming 7 miles SW of Waynetown since their marriage. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Alamo Christian Church, Alamo Ladies Aid & Alamo Booster Club and she was a member and former S and E leader of the Ripley Twp Farm Bureau. She attended Waveland HS. Born June 19, 1910 she was a daughter of Jesse and Dora Bryant Henry. She married Harry E. Hughes Dec 23, 1925. Survivors include the husband, one son, Harry Junior Hughes of St. Louis Mo; a daughter, Geraldine Hughes of Crawfordsville, one great granddaughter, two sisters, Mrs. Wandeline Gardner of Fresno, Calif and Mrs. Peggy Edwards of Park Ridge, Ill and one aunt, Mrs. Essie Bowels of Danville, Ill and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, James Henry and a sister, Mrs. Olive Smith. Services will be held at 2 p.m Friday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Wayentown with Rev. John R. Servies and Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. --  tch
