LADOGA - Mrs. Lula Hughes, 84, died at 4:25 p.m. Monday in the Ben Hur Home at Crawfordsville after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Hughes has been a practical nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the Ladoga Methodist Church. A native of Kokomo, she was born May 12, 1883, to Benjamin and Laura Bell Overman. She married Hugh Ernest Hughes at Bloomington July 4, 1906. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Brasher of Plantation, Fla., and Mrs. Bertha Campbell of Aberdeen, Wash.; a grandson, Gary Gaffnery of Newburg, N.Y., and a niece and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a twin sister and a daughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ladoga Methodist Church with Rev. Leland Wade officiating. Burial wilal be in Maple Wood Cemetery at Anderson. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home here after 4 p.m. today. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before -- typed by Chris M
