Waynetown - Frances Hughes, 75 of Waynetown, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. She served as the custodian for Veedersburg schools for many years. She moved to Waynetown from Veedesrburg in 1967. She attended Wallace HS. Mrs. Hughes was born March 14, 1909 at Wallace, a daughter of Albert and Edna Johnston Wilkinson. She married William Hughes March 30, 1932 and he preceded her in death Feb 11, 1978. Survivors include a son, Ernest of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. George (Mary) Barker of Waynetown; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell (Ruth) Cates of Yeddo and Louise Wilkinson of Waynetown; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday. - typed by kbz
