Ladoga - Charles W. Hughes, 78, an attorney died Tuesday afternoon in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He had been in failing health several weeks. He resided at 402 E. Main, Ladoga. A native of Ladoga, Mr. Hughes was a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association. He was president of Ladoga Coin Laundry. Born Dec 30, 1894, he was a son of Charles W. and Mary Thompson Hughes. On June 20, 1947, he married Mary Helen Halsema, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Beulah Hughes of Ladoga and Miss Lila Hughes of Chicago. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday in Perkins Funeral Home here. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that donations be made to the Montgomery County Cancer foundation.
