Mrs. Viola A. Hudson 91, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday at Westport in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank Jessup. She had been in failing health two years and seriously ill five weeks. Born Feb 7, 1869 near Gainerville, she was a daughter of George W. and Mahalie Hanks Skinner. She was twice married. Her first marriage was in 1888 to Albert M. Patrick. He died in 1906. Her second marriage was in 1908 to Andrew Hudson. He died in 1923. Mrs. Hudson moved to Crawfordsville in 1904 and lived here 47 years. She later moved to Indianapolis and lived with a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Booher for 7 years before moving to Westport. She was a member of a pioneer family in Sand Creek Township in Decatur County and was a distant relative of Abraham Lincoln. Mrs. Hudson was a member of the Milligan Memorial Church in Crawfordsville and was the last survivors of a family of 12. Her last sister died 3 weeks ago. Survivors include Mrs. Jessup and three other daughters, Mrs. Basil Booher of Indianapolis; Mrs. Oscar Walters of Gosport and Mrs. Oren Fruits of Indianapolis; three sons, Clarence Patrick of Indianapolis; Ernest Patrick of Crawfordsville and Kenneth Hudson of Lebanon; three stepdaughtesr, Mrs. Claude Lemon and Mrs. Howard McCormick of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Paul Perkins of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bright Funeral Home with Dr. J. Gordon Smith, pastor of Milligan Memorial Church in charge. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Services also will be conducted Tuesday morning at Hostetter-Bass Funeral Home, Westport.
