Hubbard - Elizabeth Riley

A postponed funeral service was held for Mrs. Elizabeth Riley Hubbard, 87 who died at a Fort Worth, Texas nursing home on June 27 at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 10 a.m. Monday instead of 3:30 p.m. Sunday as was planned. The body was delayed at St. Louis Mo and did not arrive in Danville, Ill until midnight on Sunday. The service was conducted by the Rev. G T Johnson of Hillsboro with organ music by Mrs. Lucy Crumley. Nephews served as pall bearers and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. The husband, George Hubbard, 90, accompanied the body and returned to Ft. Worth on Tuesday. Mrs. Hubbard was the daughter of BT and Mary Brown Riley, formerly of Hillsboro and was born June 20, 1870., She made her home with an aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Pickering of Hillsboro and was engaged in the millinery business here for several years. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. She was married to George Hubbard who survives with two sisters, Mrs. Una Wuthrick of Hillsboro and Mrs. Ada Davidson of Clermont and a number of nieces and nephews. - kbz
