The Waveland community lost one of its finest residents and business people, Sat Jan 30, 1960 when Robert HUNT, 39, died at his home here. Bob, who was owner of Waveland Feed & Grain Company had been in failing health for two years suffering an incurable heart ailment. His untimely death leaves a void in this community which will be keenly felt. He was an active worker in many civic and social enterprises and sincerely interested in promoting the welfare of Waveland. Born April 20, 1920 in Boone County, son of Earl and Frances Caplinger Hunt. Married Aug 31, 1910, Lebanon to Violet Smith. He was a member of the Methodist Church and teacher in the Sunday School. Masonic Lodge; Commercial Club; OES; American Legion of Waveland and Scottish Rite, Indianapolis. Graduate of Lebanon HS he served with US AF during WWII. Survivors include wife; two daughters, Carolyn and Jeanne; mother, Frances Hunt of Lebanon; two brothers, Gene of Lafayette and Joseph, Anderson; four sisters, Marion French, Lebanon; Mrs. Paul Harmon of Kokomo; Mrs. Lester Dickerson of Jamestown and Mrs. Nelson Huxhold of Crawfordsville; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father and two brothers, James and Marvin. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Waveland Methodist Church, Rev. Philip Badger in charge. Waveland Masonic Lodge conducted graveside services. -- kbz
