Hudson - Thomas D.

An old gentleman by the name of Thomas Hudson living near Linden met with an accident last Saturday afternoon which will probably cost him his life. He had the contract for building a barn up on the prairie somewhere north of Linden. After dinner he started in a spring wagon to take the tools to this barn, but started off with a big wagon neck-yoke on the spring wagon tongue. While going down a hill about 3 miles east of Linden, the tongue slipped through this neck-yoke, allowing the wagon to run onto the horses, which immediately became unmanageable and started to run.
At the foot of the hill the wagon ran against another wagon, throwing Mr. Hudson violently to the ground, dislocating his shoulder and seriously injuring him internally. Mr. Hudson is about 70 years old and up to the present time is entirely unconscious. - typed by kbz
