Lawrence W. (Jack) Howard, 71, of Rural Route 4, Veedersburg Sterling, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 1977, in St. Elizabeth hospital at Lafayette. Mr. Howard, a member of the Veedersburg Christian Church, was owner of the Sterling Mower Shop and was a retired auto mechanic. He was born May 15, 1905, at Veedersburg, a son of Rev. Charles and Verna Wilson Howard. He was married at Jeffersonville to Iris Youngblood on Jan. 30, 1024. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Charles R. of Rt. 3, Veedersburg, a daughter, Mrs. William ( Eleanor) Dice of Rt. 3, Veedersburg; 2 sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Andrews of Rt. 4, Veedersburg and Mrs. Tom (Dorothy) Adler of Decatur; a brother, Everett of Rt. 4, Veedersburg; four grandchildren and a great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and an infant son and daughter. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Dickerson Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. William Ringgold officiating and burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. The family requests that all donations be made to the Fountain County Cancer Society. -- tch
