Ernest House, Crawfordsville native and longtime resident of the city, died Monday (May 3, 1971) shortly after midnight at the Ross Annex Nursing Home in Lafayette. He had lived in Lafayette the past few years with a niece, Mrs. Samuel Dowden. Mr. House was last employed at the Citizens Coal & Supply Co. in Crawfordsville. He was born in Crawfordsville. He married the former Goldie Newlin. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Herbert House of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Dowden. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. -- typed by: tch
