Hostetter - Simeon

Simeon (sic) Hostetter, one of the most prominent and highly respected citizens of Ladoga, died at 4:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at Culver Union Hospital in this city. He was brought to the hospital here about a week ago. The body was taken to Ladoga this morning and funeral services will occur at the home there Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial at the Harshbarger Cemetery. Mr. Hosteter (sic) was age
D 77 years, 9 months and 3 days. He was born in southern Indiana being the first white child to be born in that locality.. About 50 years ago he moved to a farm near Ladoga, where he lived until a few years ago when he retired and moved into town. He was a member of the Masons at Ladoga and K of P at Mace and while a life long Republican was very liberal in his beliefs, his friends being numbered with his acquaintances. He is survived by an aged wife, four sons: Newton, Dayton and John of Ladoga and Tobe of this city; one daughter, Mrs. Dora Hyten of Raccoon, two brothers, Frank of Goshen and Adolph of Missouri and one sister, Mrs. Manning.
