Last Friday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Peter Horney. Elizabeth Carver Horney was born in 1844, and was 52 years old at the time of her death. She united with the Methodist Church when only 14 years old and was a consistent worker and devoted member until disabled by disease. She was the mother of nine children, six boys and three girls, all living and connected with the church and residing in three states. All were present at the funeral but one and he was absent from natural causes.

Mrs. Horney was a woman whose life was full of good works and she was an active worker in the church and at one time a steward. She was assisted to the M. E. Church and there joined the Good Templars, for the benefit of her boys and others, she said, this being her last effort.

Funeral services were conducted by T. C. Shanklin, former pastor, and J. M. Stafford, present pastor. Mr. Barnhill, undertaker of Crawfordsville, had charge of deceased from death until interment and showed his skill as a master of the situation. The pallbearers were the mother-loving sons of the deceased. Interment was at Darlington Cemetery. -s
