Mrs. Josie C. Holman, 75, 714 E. College St., died at 11:06 a.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital. She had been a patient three weeks. Mrs. Holman was employed for many years as a saleswoman in women's clothing stores in Crawfordsville. She was born Nov. 18, 1897, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Ellis and Ella Davis Cruea. She was graduated from Waynetown High School in 1916 and married Robert V. Holman Feb. 19, 1917. She and her husband had lived in Crawfordsville since moving from Waynetown in 1937. Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Thelma) West of Crawfordsville; two brothers, George Cruea of Crawfordsville and Guy Cruea of Palm Springs, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Fouts of Madera Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Opal Lewellen of Waynetown; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobbie, and two brothers, Alvin and John Cruea. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Howard F. Miller and the Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday and after 2 p.m. Sunday.
