Alma Leonard Holm, the 9 year old granddaughter of Dr. S. G. Irwin, died on Thursday evening at Muncie, from the result of a surgical operation made to save her life from the result of a peculiar injury received in the third year grade room in high school four weeks ago. When school was dismiss she was anxious to get out of the room, and in the hurried attempt to vacate her seat, she struck the outside of her left ankle on the iron leg of the desk in front of her. Swelling set in and an operation was performed, but the child was too weak to stand the operation. The remains were brought here for interment. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at 211 East Market Street.
