Services for William J. Holloway, 84, have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bright Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with Rev. Leland Brett officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Darlington. Mr. Holloway, a resident of Crawfordsville for the last 45 years, died Monday night at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He retired in 1949 from the operation of a grocery located at the intersection of Morgan and Market Streets. Before going into business for himself, he had been employed by Hygrade Dairies. Mr. Holloway had also operated a farm east of the Darlington community. Born on Sept. 16, 1884, north of Darlington, he was the son of Marion and Alice Wells Holloway. He was married to Bessie Elizabeth LaFollette on Feb. 11, 1907. The union was solemnized in Darlington. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Grant Rhode, Crawfordsville; a sister, Miss Opal Holloway of Wesley Manor, Frankfort; a granddaughter, Mrs. Donald Stonecipher of Columbus; a grandson, Phillip L. Rhode of Indianapolis, and three great-grandchildren, David, JoAnne and Vicki Sue Stonecipher. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday - waw
