Judge Washington Holloway died Monday evening at his residence on West Wabash Avenue in this city at the ripe age of 82. Mr. Holloway had been in failing health for some months but was still able to be around, until a few hours before his death. He was a native of Shelby County, Kentucky and removed to this county in 1831 thus becoming one of the advance guard of civilization ever following the trail of the setting sun. He was a cabinet maker by trade and followed the business until a short time since, when old age and failing health caused him to give up work. He was 3 times married and leaves a widow and one daughter, Miss May. His children by former marriages are Mrs. Mary Wilhite, Mrs. George Ruffner and George Holloway of Terre Haute.
