Bessie E. Holloway, 83, of 622 E. Pike St., died early Friday afternoon at her home after a long illness. She had been a resident here since 1919 and prior to that in and near Darlington. Mrs. Holloway was a daughter of Joseph W. and Alice Buchanan LaFollette and was born Aug. 6, 1885 near Shannondale. She was a graduate of Darlington High School. She was a member here of Christ United Methodist Church and its Faithful Circle Class. She married William J. Holloway on Feb. 11, 1907 at Darlington. He survives with a daughter, Mrs. Grant Rhode of Crawfordsville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Donald Stonecipher of Columbus, Ind.; a grandson, Phillip L. Rhode of Indianapolis, and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister of Mrs. Holloway are deceased. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Monday at Bright Funeral Home here with Revs. Bennett Fulp and Leland Brett officiating and interment in Darlington IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home. - jlr
