Harry F “Chick” Holland, 59 of 219 South Sixth Street for many years a well known clothing salesman in this city, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock death following a surgical operation. He came here from Crawfordsville about 20 years ago and was first employed at the Hub Clothing Store. For 15 years he had been senior salesman at the Geisler Store. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and Lafayette aerie of the Eagles. Surviving with his wife, the former Mary Hastaday is a son, Harry F. Holland, Jr. Crawfordsville; also a brother, AH Holland and two sisters, Mrs. Morton Boraker and Mrs. Charles Dewitt, all of Crawfordsville. Body at the Murphy Funeral Home after 2 Thursday to remain until Friday noon when it will be taken to the home of his brother, 703 E. Mark Street, Crawfordsville.  Funeral at St. Bernard’s Church that city at 9 a.m. Saturday. – kbz
