Appleton – James E. Holland, 81, Appleton, died Tuesday morning in his home. He was born April 22, 1904 in Waveland, Ind, the son of John and Bertha Purcell Holland. He married Pat Duffy March 22, 1930 in Crown Point, Ind. Mr. Holland had lived in Appleton for the past two years, previously residing in Park Ridge, Ill. He was the retired vice president of Hill Rubber Co. He was a member of Medine Temple, Chicago, Appleton Shrine, Neenah-Menasha Elks Lodge 676 and First Congregational United Church of Christ, Neenah. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Jan (Judith) Holland Sarnecki, Neenah; and four grandchildren. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Rev. John G. Bissett officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Chicago. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah. A memorial has been established to the Youth Fund of the church.
