Hogsett - Rebecca Poague

- McCracken, Kansas Enterprise - Rebecca Ann Poague was born January 13 (12), 1848 at Mace, Indiana. She united with the Presbyterian Church when quite young. At the age of 20 she was married to J.W. Hogsett at Mace, making their home at that place for 15 years, then they moved to Saltiloville Ind. After four years they removed to Ness County, Kansas on April 15, 1887. To them were born two sons and two daughters. Mrs. Hogsett died December 13 at age 51 years 11 months 1 day. She has been a true and devoted mother, and was very patient during her sickness. She said her work was done and she was prepared to go at any time she might be called. Her children all survive her and were all present. The funeral services were held at Brownell conducted by RO Trueblood, and remains were interred in Brownell Cemetery. She was loved most by those who knew her best. All unite in lamenting the loss of earth, but rejoice in the gain of heaven. RCT
